We received many requests for circular skirt patterns that can be made with different amounts of volume and different skirt lengths. For this reason, we have prepared several circular skirt patterns with different angles.
The pattern includes length adjustment lines from short to long, so you can adjust the skirt to the length you want.
You can use this pattern to make the skirt as shown, or use it as a base pattern for your own design.
This pattern is for a 270-degree circular skirt, which has a slightly wider flare.
We offer circular skirt patterns from 150 degrees to 720 degrees. Please choose the angle that best matches the skirt shape you want to make.
*Only the skirt pattern is included.
*The required amount of fabric is not listed because it changes greatly depending on the skirt length you choose.
*For a long skirt, the fabric may not be wide enough. In that case, add a seam allowance along the fold line and divide the pattern into separate pieces.
(1) Serge or overlock both side edges of the skirt.
(2) Apply stay tape to the zipper attachment area on one side.
(3) Sew the zipper side seam up to the marked sewing stop position, then press the seam allowances open with an iron.
(4) Attach the invisible zipper.
(5) Sew the opposite side seam, then press the seam allowances open with an iron.
(6) Serge or overlock the skirt hem. Fold the hem up by 1 cm, press it with an iron, and stitch it with a sewing machine.
(7) Apply fusible interfacing to the waistband.
(8) Fold both short ends of the waistband inward by 1 cm and press them with an iron before sewing.
(9) Fold the waistband along its center line and press it with an iron.
*When pressing the waistband, shift one folded edge about 1 mm past the other edge. This makes it easier to catch both sides when sewing the waistband to the skirt.
(10) Sew both short ends of the waistband, then turn the waistband right side out.
(11) Align the waistband with the marked attachment position on the skirt and sew it in place from the basting position.
(12) Attach a hook and bar or a button.
