This is a pattern for a Short Gilet, as requested.
Unlike the Long Gilet, this one flares slightly towards the waist.
The collar section features a simple structure where you sandwich the outer fabric and lining together and stitch to secure.
To stabilize the lines, it's recommended to use regular or slightly heavier fusible interlining on the facing section, which helps achieve cleaner lines.
Please note that the front has a slightly open design.
After printing, paste it according to the pasting line,Cut and use.
The pattern has a seam allowance, so it can be used as is.
The production process is explained with translation software.
(1) Apply fusible interlining to the "Collar," "Front facing," and "Back facing."
(2) Sew bias tape onto the bias tape attachment position of the outer fabric of the "Collar."
(3) Sew the "Collar" pieces right sides together along the "Around the neck" edge, then turn it inside out and shape it with an iron.
(4) Sew the "Front facing" and "Back facing" together, pressing the seam allowance open with an iron.
(5) Sew the shoulder, side, and back center line of the lining for the "Front bodice" and "Back bodice" together, pressing the seam allowance open with an iron.
(6) Sew the facing to the lining, folding the seam allowance downwards and pressing it towards the center.
(7) Align bias tape to the bias tape attachment position on the "Body" and stitch it in place.
(8) Sew the shoulder, side, and back center line of the "Front bodice" and "Back bodice" together, pressing the seam allowance open with an iron.
(9) Align the "Collar" to the "Collar" attachment position on the "Front bodice" and temporarily pin it in place along the "Around the neck."
(10) With right sides together, sew the "Body" and lining together from the sewing stop position all the way around to the opposite sewing stop position.
* Before turning inside out, make small incisions into the seam allowance at areas like the neckline for smoother finishing.
(11) After turning inside out using French seams, pull the armhole section out from the opening and sew the armhole together.
* Sew the armhole section in halves.
(12) Once the overall shape is ironed, close the hem.
* If shaping with an iron is difficult, using topstitching overall can create a cleaner finish.
