This is a sewing pattern and tutorial for a polo shirt.
This design features a simple front placket opening.
Please use a slightly soft knit fabric, such as pique knit, jersey knit, or rib knit.
The structure is simple, so this pattern is also suitable for design changes and arrangement.
This pattern is drafted with a slim fit, so please check the bust size carefully.
After printing, align the pages along the guide lines, paste them together, and cut out the pattern pieces. Seam allowances are included, so you can use the pattern as-is.
*Please press all sewn seams with an iron.
(1) Attach the pocket to the pocket position on the Front Bodice.
(2) Finish the raw edges of the shoulder seams and side seams of the Front Bodice and Back Bodice.
(3) Apply fusible interfacing to the Collar, Collar Stand, and front placket.
*Make the left and right front plackets as mirror images.
(4) Make the front placket.
(5) Sew the shoulder seams and side seams of the Front Bodice and Back Bodice together. Press the seam allowances open.
(6) Make the Collar.
(7) Sew the Collar to the Collar Stand. Sew the Collar Stand to the Bodice.
(8) Finish the raw edge of the bodice hem. Fold the bodice hem 1 cm (0.5 in) to the wrong side with an iron, and topstitch.
(9) Finish the raw edges of both sleeve sides and the sleeve hem. Sew both sleeve sides together. Press the seam allowances open.
*It is easier later if the sleeve hem is finished first.
(10) Fold the sleeve hem 1 cm (0.5 in) to the wrong side with an iron, and topstitch.
(11) Sew the Sleeves to the Bodice. Finish the raw edges.
(12) Make the buttonholes. Sew the buttons in place.
