Arrow Skirt2 Sewing Patterns | DRCOS Patterns & How To Make

This sewing pattern is for the Arrow Skirt II shown in the costume image.

The angles, balance, and lengths of the arrow-shaped sections were carefully adjusted to create the finished shape.

Leather or synthetic leather is used for the decorative sections.

Please use a 22 cm invisible zipper for this pattern.

After printing, align the pages along the guide lines, join them together, and cut out the pattern pieces. Seam allowances are included, so you can use the pattern as-is.

*When making Arrow Skirt II, use leather or synthetic leather for the lower skirt and decorative pieces.

*For the inner skirt, this example uses raschel lace fabric without finishing the fabric edges.

*When cutting leather, do not use pins. Secure the pattern to the surface of the leather with cellophane tape and cut it out with a utility knife.

(1) Serge or overlock the side edges and lower edge of the upper skirt, then apply stay tape to the zipper attachment position.

(2) Sew one side seam of the upper skirt up to the marked sewing stop position. Press the seam allowances open, then attach the invisible zipper.

(3) Sew the opposite side seam and press the seam allowances open.

(4) Sew the pointed sections of the lower skirt together. Open the seam allowances and secure them with topstitching so that they lie flat.

(5) Sew the decorative pieces onto the lower skirt.

(6) Place the lower skirt over the upper skirt as marked and stitch the two sections together.

(7) Sew one side of the inner skirt up to the marked sewing stop position, then sew the opposite side seam. Press the seam allowances open.

(8) Fold the part of the inner skirt above the sewing stop position inward by about 13 mm and stitch it to the zipper tape.

*Leave enough space so that the inner skirt does not interfere with opening and closing the zipper.

(9) Apply fusible interfacing to the belt.

(10) Fold each short side of the belt inward by 1 cm (0.5 in) and press it with an iron.

(11) Fold the belt along the center line.

*When pressing the belt, let one inner edge extend about 1 mm beyond the other edge. This makes it easier to catch both layers when stitching.

(12) Sew both short ends of the belt, then turn the belt right side out.

(13) Align the belt with the marked basting position on the skirt and stitch it in place.

(14) Attach a hook-and-eye fastener or a button.
