This is a pattern for a circular 12-box pleated skirt.
There are also 8 and 10 pleat types with the same design but with different numbers of pleats.
This is a short box-pleated skirt with a spread length that is often seen in idol costumes, anime characters, and many other situations.
There are no darts, and the body and pleats are simply sewn together alternately, so this type is recommended for beginners.
Unlike regular box pleats, this skirt is made in a circular shape, so that the skirt will be more flattering when panniers or other garments are worn.
However, the circle is not a full circle, but 270 degrees.
If it is not 270 degrees, the box pleats will not come out beautifully.
For beginners, we have made a simple structure by attaching a zipper in the center of the body.
This one has 12 folds, but we also have 8 folds and 10 folds, so we hope you can use it according to your image.
Circular box pleats tend to be avoided, but since it is a simple type, it has a fairly easy structure.
Even though it is a simple type, once completed, it will be outstandingly cute!
Use 22cm invisible zip when making this pattern.

How to Serge/overlock (sewing machine & overlock sewing machine)
(2) Serge/overlock all parts of the pleated fabric except for the hem.
(3) Apply stay tape to the zipper position on the "Body" side.
(4) Attach the zipper up to the sewing stop position.
*For fabrics difficult to iron, topstitch the seam allowance (S/A).
(5) Align the pleated fabric with the hem of the "Body," and stitch 12 pieces together in a loop, alternating "Body" and pleated fabric.
(6) Press open the seam allowance (S/A) with an iron, serge/overlock the hem, then fold up by 1cm and sew on a sewing machine.
(7) Fold along the crease line of the pleats, secure the topstitching position with topstitching.
*For fabrics that hold shape well with ironing, topstitching is unnecessary.
(8) Align the stitching lines of adjacent "Body" pieces, stitch together, and press seam allowances open with an iron.
(9) Open the seam allowance (S/A) stitched in step (8) on one side at a time, and stitch the pleated fabric to it alternately from the back.
(10) Prepare the belt, sew it onto the "Body," and attach hooks and snaps.
