Free sewing pattern for a simple vampire cape, perfect for Halloween costumes, Dracula cosplay, and stage performances.
The PDF pattern already includes seam allowance, making it beginner-friendly and ready to use right after printing. Basic sewing instructions are written directly on the pattern for easy reference.
This versatile cape can be paired with a white shirt and black trousers for an instant vampire look. For a complete costume, we recommend making it together with our free silk top hat pattern.
For children’s sizes from 140 cm and above, use double-width fabric to cut the cape in one piece. For smaller sizes, join the back panel at the center. For women’s LL size and above, the design is made with three panels.
After printing, align the joining lines, tape the sheets together, and cut out the pieces to start sewing immediately. Whether for Halloween, cosplay events, or themed parties, this cape pattern offers a quick and satisfying sewing project for all skill levels.
This tutorial also serves as a helpful reference for cape facings and sewing techniques often used in costume-making, making it valuable for cosplay enthusiasts. By following these steps, you can create your own custom vampire cape pattern, ideal for anyone searching for a free Dracula cape sewing pattern or a beginner-friendly Halloween cloak tutorial.

(1) Iron on a stiff fusible interlining to the "Collar lining Fabric", sew the "Collar lining Fabric" to the "Body lining Fabric", and press seam allowances open with an iron.
* Cut the seam allowance where the fabric will be pulled by the seam allowance and let it settle.
(2) After sewing "Collar" and "Body" together, press seam allowances open with an iron.
(3) Place the cloak on the right side together and sew around the perimeter.
* Cut the seam allowance at the corners after sewing them together.
* Make sure to make an open section at the hem to turn inside out.
(4) From the open part, turn inside out and iron to shape.
(5) Sew around the cloak with a topstitch.
* Sew the open part together at this time.
* If it is too much trouble to sew closed, use iron-on adhesive tape to close the open part.
