Here is the pattern for a mantlet with the maximum length achievable with double-width fabric.

This pattern includes instructions for making a mantlet with a stand collar that requires stiff fusible interfacing.

(1) Apply "hard fusible interlining" to the "Collar lining" with an iron, attach the "Collar lining" to the "Body Lining," and press seam allowances open with an iron

* Make cuts and press with an iron on the seam allowance (S/A) of the collar

(2) Sew "Collar" and "Body" together, and press seam allowances open with an iron

(3) Fold one side of the opening at (3) position by 1cm (or 0.5in) with an iron to shape (on both right side and lining)

(4) Join right side and lining with right sides together from the starting point of (3) to the ending point, sewing around the perimeter

* After sewing, trim seam allowance (S/A) at corners

(5) Turn inside out from the open part and press with an iron to shape

(6) Secure the perimeter of the mantle with topstitch

* Also stitch closed the open part at this time

* If topstitching is inconvenient, use iron-on tape to close the open part
