Here is the pattern and instructions for making a mantlet with a stand collar that has a significantly large size, covering nearly half of the face.
It uses stiff fusible interfacing to make the collar stand up firmly.
After printing, paste it according to the pasting line,Cut and use.
The pattern has a seam allowance, so it can be used as is.
The production process is explained with translation software.
(1) Fold the upper part of the fusible interlining 1cm (0.5in) inward to create a channel for inserting a wire.
* Use garment wire or nylon-coated wire and choose according to the desired strength of the "Collar."
(2) Insert the wire into the folded part and sew along it.
(3) Attach the fusible interlining with wire to the "Collar" using an iron, then sew it right sides together, flip it inside out, and shape it with an iron.
* Cut the corners before flipping it inside out.
* When sewing, be careful not to stitch through the fusible interlining with the sewing machine.
* If shaping with an iron is not sufficient after flipping it inside out, use topstitching to sew around the perimeter to secure it.
(4) Sew the open side of the flipped "Collar" onto the "Body" side where it will be attached.
(5) On one side of position (5), fold it 1cm (0.5in) with an iron to shape it (both right side and lining).
(6) Align the right side and lining of the collar, then sew them together starting from the sewing start position to the sewing end position, while sandwiching the "Collar" in between.
* After sewing, cut the seam allowance (S/A) at the corners.
(7) Flip it inside out through the open side and shape it with an iron.
(8) Sew around the perimeter of the collar with topstitching to secure it.
* Make sure to sew the open side closed during topstitching.
* If it's inconvenient to close with topstitching, use iron-on adhesive tape to close the open side.
