We have received numerous requests for tabi socks, so we have produced them.
As the range of sizes is quite broad, it's currently undecided how far we'll go with sizing.
For women's sizes, we're aiming for around 8 sizes, similarly for men's sizes, and children's sizes are yet to be determined.
We're not aiming for the larger EEE sizes commonly available; instead, we're drafting patterns around D to E sizes.
For the metal fasteners (kohaze), we've included 5, but feel free to adjust the number to 3 or 4 as desired.
If you wish to create authentic tabi socks for traditional Japanese attire, please use high-quality thread and materials.
Feel free to create originals with your favorite fabrics or customize them to your liking. We've provided symbols to make the sewing process as easy to follow as possible, so once you get used to it, it should be quite simple.
After printing, paste it according to the pasting line,Cut and use.
The pattern has a seam allowance, so it can be used as is.

(1) Widen the hole at the "Position of the tie string" using a needle punch or similar tool without tearing the fabric, and thread the tie string through using a wool needle or similar tool.
(2) Sew the gap closed to secure the tie string in place so it doesn't shift.
(3) With the fabric for the "Inner surface of the instep" facing inside, sew along section (A), then turn it inside out and use an iron to shape it.
(4) With the fabric for the "Outer surface of the instep" facing inside, sew along section (B), and while sewing, attach the "kohaze" by hand at the "Position of the kohaze".
(5) Sew together the "Inner surface of the instep" and the "Outer surface of the instep" along section (C), turn it inside out, and use an iron to shape it.
* Steps (1) to (5) should be done symmetrically for both sides at the same time.
(6) Apply fusible interlining to the "Sole," then sew from the "Inner surface of the instep" to the end of the "Outer surface of the instep," and finish the seam allowance.
