This pattern is for making oversized, roomy gloves.
Unlike regular gloves, the finger widths are drafted wider overall, giving them more of a winter glove or thick glove feel. They are suitable for making gloves with bulky fabrics, faux leather, or any material where you want a loose, comfortable fit.
Please note that although I drafted this pattern myself, I never actually made a finished sample. Because of this, there may be some parts that feel slightly unusual.
The base shape is modeled on my own hand. Before sewing, please place your hand on the printed pattern to check the size and adjust it as needed.
After printing, align the joining lines, tape the pages together, and cut out the pieces. The seam allowance is already included, so you can use the pattern as is.
The method and key points for making clean, well-shaped gloves are explained in detail with photos in the guide below.
You can find the step-by-step glove-making tutorial with photos here:
Detailed sewing steps and additional techniques can be found here.
* This pattern is designed to be sewn with a 2 mm seam allowance.
(1) Sew the dotted line on the thumb piece.
(2) Attach the thumb to the base piece.
(3) Attach one side of the three gusset pieces to the base.
(4) Attach the other side of the gusset pieces to form the glove shape.
(5) Fold the hem (bottom edge) into a triple fold and sew.
The large-size glove is made using the same sewing steps, and the link above can be used as a reference for the process.
