This is a sewing pattern and tutorial for a basic high-neck vest with no darts.
The pattern can be used as-is, or you can customize it by adding darts or adjusting the lines for cosplay costumes or original designs.
This vest is finished with bias binding along the edges. It can also be made with fleece fabric, making it suitable as a comfortable vest for home use.
After printing, align the pages along the guide lines, paste them together, and cut out the pattern pieces. Seam allowances are included, so the pattern can be used as-is.
(1) Make the pocket and attach it at the marked pocket position.
(2) Finish the shoulder and side edges of the front body and back body, sew the shoulders and sides together with a sewing machine, and press the seam allowances open with an iron.
(3) Sew the collar to the body with a sewing machine, then wrap bias tape around the seam allowance and stitch it in place.
(4) Starting from the center of the back body hem, wrap bias tape around the entire hem and sew.
(5) Wrap bias tape around the armholes and sew.
* If you are using an open-end zipper, attach the bias tape at the same time as step (4). If you are using buttons, attach them at the final step.
