(1) Serge/overlock the edges of the side openings and fold them over.
How to Serge/overlock (sewing machine & overlock sewing machine)
(2) Fold and secure the fold lines of the side openings with a sewing machine.
(3) Serge/overlock both sides, inseams, and hems beforehand.
* Pre-shaping the pleats will make the process easier later on.
(4) Stitch the front and back inseams and sides together to form a tube, then fold the hems by 1cm and sew them on a sewing machine.
(5) Shape and press the front and back pleats with an iron, securing the back pleats with topstitching.
* For materials that are difficult to shape with just folding, consider adding topstitching to the front pleats or using interfacing inside to stabilize the pleats.
(6) Sew the top together to form pants.
(7) Attach fusible interlining to the waistband, shape it, then stitch it onto the "Body", inserting the drawstring and adding Velcro.
