This is a free sewing pattern for a 4-tier gathered frill skirt, designed with an elastic waistband for easy wear.
The design is very cute and suitable for both cosplay costumes and everyday fashion. Since there are no zippers, buttons, or hooks — only elastic at the waist — the construction is simple, making it great for beginners.
The most time-consuming steps are gathering the fabric and attaching the ruffle tiers, but once completed, the skirt has a charming and voluminous look.
This pattern can be customized for different lengths, fabrics, or styles, making it versatile for various outfits. It is also a popular choice for creating cosplay skirts by modifying the frill arrangement or fabric type.
After printing, align the join lines and cut along them. The pattern includes seam allowances (S/A), so it is ready to use as is.
The production process is explained with translation software.

(1) Serging the sides of the "Body", press seam allowances open with an iron, and Serging the hem.
(2) Fold it in three on "Body" with an iron and sew it in place.
* Make a hole for the elastic when sewing it on, and put the elastic through it at the end.
(3) Serging the sides of "Frill", sew four pieces into a loop and press seam allowances open with an iron.
(4) Fold the hem of "Frill" in three and gather it.
* 3 folds are small. If you have a lock sewing machine, you can use a roll lock.
(5) Attach the "Frill" in the order of the first row to the fourth row.
* Attach the ruffles in the reverse direction (see the figure for how to attach)
* If the fabric is wide, lengthen the length of the ruffles to reduce the number of ruffles to be taken.
