This is a sewing pattern and tutorial for a short-length bolero jacket with a front opening.
This pattern has an even simpler structure than Bolero Jacket 2.
The back bodice is cut on the fold, and there is no facing. At the end, the outer fabric and lining are held together with bias binding.
Bias binding is used around the garment, so this part may take time. The required bias binding length is written on the pattern, so you can make it without waste.
The sleeve length is drafted slightly shorter. If you are concerned about the length, place the paper pattern on your shoulder and check it before cutting the fabric.
This pattern is suitable as a base pattern for a very simple bolero jacket.
The difficulty level is 2. If you are used to sewing, this simple design can be finished in a few hours after cutting the fabric.
After printing, align the pages along the guide lines, paste them together, and cut out the pattern pieces. Seam allowances are included, so you can use the pattern as-is.
*Please press all sewn seams with an iron.
(1) Sew the shoulder seams and side seams of the Front Bodice and Back Bodice. Press the seam allowances open.
(2) Sew the shoulder seams and side seams of the Front Lining and Back Lining. Press the seam allowances open.
(3) Sew the sleeve underarm seams. Press the seam allowances open.
(4) Sew the sleeve lining underarm seams. Press the seam allowances open.
(5) Sew the sleeves to the bodice. Press the seam allowances open.
(6) Sew the sleeve linings to the bodice lining. Press the seam allowances open.
(7) Place the bodice and lining together. Baste around the outer edges.
(8) Finish the outer edges of the bodice and the sleeve openings with bias binding.
(9) Sew the buttons at the decorative button positions.
