This is a simple sewing pattern and how-to for making a Santa hat.
It is an easy design made from one-quarter of a circle. You can adjust the shape to make it longer or change the width of the white fur part to match your image or preference.
As long as you keep the head circumference the same, you can freely modify it into many different styles using this base pattern.
A large fur pom-pom or similar decoration at the tip of the hat is cute and highly recommended.
After printing, align and tape the joining lines before cutting. Seam allowances are already included in the pattern, so it can be used as is.
(1) Finish the edges of the base first.
(2) Sew the side edges of the base together, then turn it right side out.
* Before turning, trim the seam allowance at the tip to reduce bulk.
(3) Sew both side edges of the poodle boa by hand to form a loop, then fold it in half lengthwise.
(4) From the wrong side of the base, wrap it with the poodle boa and hand sew it in place along the edge.
(5) Attach a large white pom-pom or fur pom-pom to the tip.
