This is a free sewing pattern and tutorial for a short princess seam Santa dress with an invisible zipper.
The Santa hat is not included in this pattern. Please download the required size from the Santa Hat pattern page.
The princess seam design creates a very cute and flattering silhouette. You can make it with either poodle fur or regular short-pile faux fur for the trim.
For the main red fabric, we recommend a slightly brushed or thick, soft material. Using fabric that is too thin will make the dress look flimsy, so adding a lining is suggested if you want to achieve a well-defined shape.
Since this dress is difficult to wear with regular undergarments, adding a lining is also recommended if the wrong side of the fabric is not suitable for direct contact with the skin.
Once printed, cut along the join lines. The pattern already includes seam allowances, so it is ready to use without adding extra margins.
The production process is explained with translation software.

(1) Serge/overlock the sides of all "Bodies".
(2) Sew the back center to the sewing end, and press seam allowances open with an iron.
(3) Stick a stay tape at the zipper position and sew the zipper.
(4) Sew all the "Body" pieces together and press seam allowances open with an iron.
(5) Connect the "Boa" for the hem and sew in a loop.
(6) Sew the "Boa" to the hem, fold it up on the front side, and sew it in place.
(7) Apply fusible interlining to the "facing" and press seam allowances open with an iron after sewing.
(8) Sew the sides of the "Boa (chest part)" together to make one piece.
(9) When sewing the "facing" to the "Body", insert the "Boa" for the chest area between the "Body" and the "Boa" and sew them together.
(10) Sew the "Boa" for the chest area by tucking it into the front side.
* Sew the "Boa" around the chest, tucking it into the front side and sewing it in place.
* Hand sew the edges of the "Boa" around the chest so that the edges do not get caught in the zipper.
* Cut a notch in the seam allowance where the fabric will be pulled.
