This is a free sewing pattern and tutorial for a simple pleated skirt designed for cosplay costumes.
Unlike a standard pleated skirt, this version has no side pleats or darts, making it much easier and faster to sew. The zipper is placed in one of the front pleats, which is unconventional but keeps the sewing process simple.
Because it is intended for costume use rather than everyday fashion, the pattern focuses on visual effect over perfect tailoring. The finished skirt still looks neat and attractive, even without traditional shaping methods.
This pattern is ideal for cosplay outfits, stage costumes, and quick sewing projects where speed and appearance matter more than formal construction. For a fully authentic pleated skirt with proper darts and zipper placement, please refer to our separate detailed pattern.
Once printed, cut along the join lines. The pattern already includes seam allowances, so it is ready to use immediately.
The production process is explained with translation software.

(2) Serging the hem, fold up 1 inch, and sew with a sewing machine.
(3) Stitch the invisible zip after applying the anti-stretch tape at the fastener position.
(4) Fold in the back folds, and stitch and settle them.
(5) Fold the iron fold line with an iron and fasten with a gusset needle along the ironing line.
(6) Stitch the dotted portion of the iron fold line and settle it.
(7) Apply interfacing to the belt and sew the belt portion.
