This is a sewing pattern for a classic casquette cap, made by joining eight top panels to create a rounded shape.
It can be used as a base pattern for arranging with different fabrics, allowing you to design your own unique hat.
Perfect for everyday wear, fashion accessories, or as a reference for creating parts when making cosplay costumes.
Recommended fabrics include cotton, denim, linen, wool, or other materials suitable for the season. Light fabrics work well for spring and summer, while thicker fabrics such as wool or corduroy are ideal for autumn and winter.
Beginners will find this pattern easy to sew, and advanced sewists can enjoy adding design variations such as eyelets for ventilation or decorative topstitching.
After printing, align and paste the pages along the matching lines, then cut along the pattern. Seam allowances are already included, so you can start sewing right away.
* If the fabric is thin, apply fusible interfacing to the lining.
* After topstitching, trim off any extra seam allowance.
(1) Sew two top pieces together, press the seam allowance open, and topstitch.
(2) Sew another top piece to the part from (1), press the seam allowance open, and topstitch.
(3) Sew another top piece to the part from (2), press the seam allowance open, and topstitch.
(4) Repeat steps (1) to (3) with the remaining four pieces to make two half-circle parts.
(5) Sew the two half-circle parts together, press the seam allowance open, and topstitch.
(6) Sew the side pieces into loops, press the seam allowance open with an iron, and make two side parts.
(7) Sew the lower edges of the two side parts together, leaving the section for inserting the brim open. Turn it right side out and press the upper edge into shape for sandwiching.
(8) Sew the brim pieces together, insert brim interfacing, and secure it with topstitching.
(9) Sandwich the side into the top and sew to secure.
(10) Sandwich the brim into the side and sew to secure.
* For the side and brim steps, use whichever method is easiest for you.
