This free sewing pattern is for a tucked skirt, with seam allowances already included so it’s ready to use after printing. The design offers a moderate amount of volume—more than a darted skirt but less than a gathered skirt—making it a versatile choice for both everyday wear and certain costume applications.
Tucks are simpler to make than darts, as they only require folding and stitching, making this skirt a great project for beginners. The gentle fit around the hips also adds comfort, making it suitable for casual daily outfits.
For easier assembly, baste the tuck folds by hand before attaching the waistband. This will help keep the fabric neatly in place during sewing. The hem allowance is set at 2 cm, so pressing the hem with an iron should be manageable, but if you find the side hem area too tight when folding, ease the fabric slightly to maintain a smooth line.
Use a 22 cm invisible zipper for closure. After printing, align the sheets along the matching lines, tape them together, and cut out the pieces. This tucked skirt pattern is ideal for anyone looking to create a simple, elegant, and comfortable skirt without complicated sewing techniques.
