This is a free sewing pattern and tutorial for a simple fabric ribbon (bow).
The pattern includes two size options, often referred to as “women’s size” and “men’s size,” but you can simply choose based on your preferred ribbon width.
This versatile ribbon can be used as a decorative accessory for cosplay costumes, clothing, or craft projects. Since the design is simple, you can easily adapt the base pattern to suit your own style and purpose.
For fabrics such as polyester that are difficult to shape, adding topstitching will help maintain crisp lines and improve the finished look.
The pattern is beginner-friendly and already includes seam allowances. Once printed, cut along the join lines and start sewing.
The production process is explained with translation software.

(1) Apply fusible interlining to the "upper part" half and the "ribbon-core".
(2) Sew the "upper part" right side together, press seam allowances open with an iron, turn inside out, and fold the "upper part" over.
(3) Align the seam allowance with the center position, and sew with zigzag stitches.
(4) Fold the "lower part" on the right side together with the fold line, sew all the sides except the back seam to form a French seam, turn inside out, and iron the seam into shape.
* Adjust the inside-out opening according to the thickness of the fabric.
(5) Turn "ribbon-core" over to form a French seam, wrap the top and bottom parts of the ribbon, and sew them together with a hand stitch.
