This is a free sewing pattern and tutorial for a pleated face mask.
This flat, pleated mask design is easy to sew and can be made in custom sizes to perfectly fit your face. It is ideal when store-bought masks are unavailable or when you need a mask that seals better than commercial options.
The mask can help reduce the spread of droplets during colds, influenza, and other illnesses, and can also be used to prevent dryness of the throat while sleeping.
It requires only a small amount of fabric, can be washed and disinfected for repeated use, and is therefore cost-effective. You can make it with cute prints for children or from natural fabrics for people with allergies.
For added protection, you can insert gauze, non-woven fabric, or a sanitizing sheet inside the mask.
Once printed, cut along the join lines. The pattern already includes seam allowances, so it is ready to use without additional margins.
The production process is explained with translation software.

If you have allergies, please use natural materials.
(1) Align the gauze or antibacterial filter with the position where the gauze is applied.
(2) Sew the top and bottom together and turn them over to shape them with an iron.
(3) Sew the five stitch dotted lines together.
This stitching is not necessary if you don't care about the gap between the front and back fabric.
(4) Place the shape retention cord in the nose wire position.
It is easier to insert the shape retention cord if the corner of the end is cut round.
(5) Ironing in the mountain and valley fold lines
(6) Keeping the folded shape, fold in half an inch on the outside and one inch on the inside, and sew with a sewing machine.
(7) Determine the length of the elastic to the position of the ears and put the elastic through.
Tuck the end of the rubber into the tri-fold.
