This sewing pattern is for a 450-degree circular skirt.
This pattern was created in response to requests for circular skirts with different amounts of volume and different finished lengths.
The pattern includes length adjustment lines from short to long, so you can choose the length that matches your design.
You can use this pattern as-is to make a skirt, or use it as a base pattern for your own design changes.
This version has a 450-degree circular shape, so it has much more volume than a 360-degree full circular skirt.
Please choose the circular skirt angle that best matches the shape and volume you want to make.
*Only the skirt pattern is included.
*The required amount of fabric is not listed because it changes greatly depending on the finished skirt length.
*For a long skirt, the fabric width may not be wide enough. In that case, add seam allowance at the fold line and divide the pattern into separate pieces.
(1) Serge or overlock both side edges of the skirt.
(2) Apply stay tape to the zipper attachment area on one side.
(3) Sew the zipper side seam up to the marked sewing stop position, then press the seam allowances open.
(4) Attach the invisible zipper.
(5) Sew the opposite side seam, then press the seam allowances open.
(6) Serge or overlock the skirt hem. Fold the hem up by 1 cm, press it with an iron, and stitch it with a sewing machine.
(7) Apply fusible interfacing to the belt.
(8) Fold each short side of the belt inward by 1 cm and press it with an iron.
(9) Fold the belt along the center line.
*When pressing the belt, let one inner edge extend about 1 mm beyond the other edge. This makes it easier to catch both layers when stitching.
(10) Sew both short ends of the belt, then turn the belt right side out.
(11) Align the belt with the marked basting position on the skirt and stitch it in place.
(12) Attach a hook-and-eye fastener or a button.
