This is a pattern for a short cape with a stand collar, which has been requested by many.
Unlike regular patterns, this one is divided into front bodice, side, and back bodice sections, allowing for a clean shoulder line.
Unlike the Short Cape II, this design doesn't have darts and features slightly flared lines.
This pattern is also recommended as a base pattern for a three-piece cape.
After printing, paste it according to the pasting line,Cut and use.
The pattern has a seam allowance, so it can be used as is.
The production process is explained with translation software.
(1) Apply fusible interlining to the lining side of the "Collar" and "Collar stand".
(2) Connect the "Front bodice" sides to the "Back bodice" and press open the seam allowance with an iron.
* Make small cuts at the tight corners of the seam allowance to ease them.
* If it's difficult to shape with an iron, use topstitch to split the seam allowance and trim off the excess seam allowance.
* Repeat the same process for the lining.
(3) Align the "Body" and lining with right sides together, sew from the front side, around the hem, and back to the opposite front side, then flip inside out and press with an iron.
* If shaping with an iron is difficult, use topstitch to secure.
(4) Fold the bottom side of the "Collar stand" (the side to be attached to the "Body") by 1cm (0.5in) in advance to make it easier to insert later.
(5) With the "Collar" and lining right sides together, sew the upper side (the side to be sandwiched by the "Collar stand") in a U-shape, then flip inside out and press with an iron.
* Make small cuts at the tight corners of the seam allowance to ease them.
* If shaping with an iron is difficult, use topstitch to secure.
(6) After sewing the sides of the "Collar stand", sandwich the "Collar" while sewing the upper side (the side to be sandwiched by the "Collar") inside out, then press with an iron.
* When sandwiching the "Collar", pay attention to the side to be sandwiched (align the lining with the right side of the fabric and vice versa) ("Collar" will show the opposite side when folded).
(7) Attach the "Collar stand" to the "Body" while sandwiching it.
