This is a pattern for a short cape that can be made to fit along the body's lines.
Unlike regular patterns, this one is divided into front bodice, side, and back bodice sections, allowing for a clean shoulder line.
With darts on the side sections, it's possible to achieve a nicely defined shoulder line.
This pattern is also recommended as a base pattern for a three-piece cape.
In the costume pictured, 15mm bias tape was ironed and handmade for use.
Using a tape maker makes the process easy.
After printing, paste it according to the pasting line,Cut and use.
The pattern has a seam allowance, so it can be used as is.
The production process is explained with translation software.
(1) Sew the side darts and iron, folding the seam towards the center. (*Repeat for the lining)
(2) Connect the "Front bodice" sides to the "Back bodice" and press open the seam allowance with an iron.
* Make small cuts at the tight corners of the seam allowance to ease them.
* If it's difficult to shape with an iron, use topstitch to split the seam allowance and trim off the excess seam allowance.
(3) Attach the "Collar" to the "Body" and press seam allowances open with an iron.
* Make small cuts at the tight corners of the seam allowance to ease them.
* If it's difficult to shape with an iron, use topstitch to split the seam allowance and trim off the excess seam allowance.
(4) Repeat steps (1) to (3) to create the lining, making two identical pieces.
* When using lightweight fabric, apply fusible interlining to the lining of the "Collar".
(5) Align the finished "Body" pieces and sew around the perimeter to shape it.
(6) Use 15mm bias tape to finish around the neck and hem of the "Body".
* Use bias tape that is of the type that can be inserted.
(7) Process the front part of the "Body" with 15mm bias tape and attach Sew on snap.
