This is a sewing pattern and tutorial for an A-line T-shirt.
Please use knit fabric or other stretchy materials such as 2-way stretch when making this garment.
The sleeve length is slightly longer than a regular short sleeve, and both the sleeves and the body have a gentle A-line flare.
It is also perfect as comfortable loungewear, so it is great for creating your own original T-shirt.
The pattern is a short-sleeve design. If you wish to make long sleeves, please adjust the sleeve pattern accordingly.
After printing, align the matching lines, tape the pages together, and cut out the pattern. Seam allowances are already included, so the pattern can be used as is.
What are “Grainline” and “Cut on Fold”? Please refer to this page.
(1) Sew the shoulder seams and side seams of the “Front Body” and “Back Body” together using a regular sewing machine. Serge/overlock the seam allowances and press with an iron.
How to serge/overlock (sewing machine & overlock machine) Please refer to this page.
(2) Sew the side seams of the “Sleeves” (you will make two tubes). Serge/overlock the seam allowances and press.
(3) Serge/overlock the hem of the Body and the hem of the Sleeves. Fold the hem inward by 0.5 inch (≈1 cm) and sew with a regular sewing machine.
(4) Attach the “Sleeves” to the “Body” and serge/overlock the armhole seams.
(5) Sew the “Neck” piece into a loop.
(6) Fold the “Neck” piece in half lengthwise and sew it onto the Body, sandwiching the seam allowance.
