This is a free sewing pattern and step-by-step tutorial for a round-neck A-line blouse.
The blouse has a dart-free design that gently flares toward the hem, creating a relaxed and comfortable silhouette. Its slightly loose fit makes it ideal for layering over an inner top or camisole, resulting in a cute and casual look.
For the best finish, we recommend using a soft fabric with natural drape. This allows the blouse to fall beautifully and gives it a clean, elegant, and feminine appearance.
The pattern is simple and beginner-friendly. It uses a facing only, with no lining or collar, making it easy to sew even for those new to garment making.
After printing, align the indicated join lines, assemble the sheets, and cut out the pattern pieces. Seam allowances are already included, so the pattern can be used as-is without adding extra margins.
What is “Grainline” and “Cut on Fold”?
(1) Sew the pocket onto the designated pocket position.
(2) Serge the shoulder and side seams of the front and back body pieces, sew them together with a sewing machine, and press the seam allowances open with an iron.
How to Serge / Overlock (sewing machine & overlock sewing machine)
(3) Apply fusible interlining to the facing, sew the facing pieces together, press the seam allowances open, and finish the outer edge with serging.
(4) Sew the facing to the body, turn the garment right side out, and press with an iron to set the shape.
*After turning the facing to the inside, cut small notches in the seam allowance around the back neckline and trim the corners.
(5) Finish the hem edge of the body, fold it up 0.5 inch, and sew it with a sewing machine.
(6) Serge the sleeve side seams, sew them together with a sewing machine, press the seam allowances open, then fold up the sleeve hem by 0.5 inch and sew.
