This is a sewing pattern and tutorial for a simple high-neck shirt (long sleeves & short sleeves).
Please use knit fabric or other stretch fabrics such as 2-way material when making this garment.
The front and back pattern pieces are the same, so the construction process is very easy.
Because it is simple, it is also perfect to make as an everyday wear item.
If you have an overlock machine, you can complete the garment without using a regular sewing machine.
The differences between the men's size and the women's size are not large. The main differences are a small change in shoulder width, the absence of a waist curve line in the men's size, and slight differences in sleeve width and length.
Because of these small differences, we recommend choosing the men's size for male users.
After printing, please align the join lines, tape the pages together, and cut out the pattern. Seam allowances are already included, so you can use the pieces as they are.
*This pattern is simplified, so the body and sleeves are the same for both front and back.
(1) Sew the side seams of the front and back bodies and the sleeves, then serge/overlock the edges.
How to Serge/overlock (sewing machine & overlock sewing machine) Please refer to this page
(2) Serge/overlock the neckline, hem, and sleeve hems. Fold them 0.5 inch (≈1 cm) inward and sew with a sewing machine.
(3) Sew the sleeves to the body, then serge/overlock the armholes.
*Use knit fabric or other stretchy materials.
*Stretch thread (such as elastic thread) is recommended.
